What are chat rooms?

Short answer

Rooms where a Booki and their members talk together. Every Booki who opens chat has a General room for all members, and can add rooms for higher tiers.

Where to find them

Open Messages. Game threads are at the top, and under them are the chat rooms of the Bookis you are a member of: the ones you can open and, with a lock, the ones a higher tier would open. You can also press the chat button on a Booki’s page.

Who can take part

  • A room is for all of a Booki’s members, or from one tier up. A higher tier always includes the rooms of the tiers below it.
  • A free membership counts as a membership.
  • When your membership ends, the rooms go with it at the end of the period you paid for.

Names and tags

The Booki has the green verified mark next to their name, and so does any other Booki who talks in the room. Where a Booki offers more than one tier, a member’s name carries their tier, in the tier’s colour. A moderator has a small shield next to their name.

What you can do

  • Write messages of up to 500 characters. You can also send a GIF.
  • Send up to 4 photos in a message, in rooms where the Booki allows it. Photos are not available in game threads.
  • Reply to a message, and react to it.
  • Mention someone with @ and their username. They see a mark on the room.
  • Edit your own message for 15 minutes after you sent it. An edited message says so.
  • Delete your own message at any time.

If a room says “slow mode”, each member can send one message in the time shown. If it says it is closed, you can read it but not write.

You do not see the messages of people you have blocked.
