Playbooki Cookie Policy
Effective: October 10, 2026
At Playbooki Inc ("we," "us," "our," or "Playbooki"), we use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience on our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and your options for managing them. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy (playbooki.com/p/privacy-policy), which provides broader details about how we handle your personal information.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (e.g., computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website or use an app. They help us recognize your device, remember your preferences, and collect usage data. We also use similar technologies, such as:
- Local Storage: Data stored in your browser to support functionality (e.g., saving settings).
For simplicity, we refer to all these technologies collectively as "cookies" in this policy.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for various purposes to ensure the Service works effectively and meets your needs. The cookies we use are:
2.1 Essential Cookies:
- Purpose: These cookies are necessary for the Service to function properly.
- Examples: Maintaining your login session, enabling secure transactions, and remembering your account settings.
- Details: Without these cookies, you wouldn’t be able to access core features like subscribing to a plan or posting User Content.
2.2 Only what is needed. We use only the cookies needed to run the Service and keep it secure. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our payment processor, Stripe, sets its own cookies to prevent card fraud, and pages may load components from the payment and security providers named in our Privacy Policy.
3. The Cookies We Set
- Session and security tokens: keep you signed in and protect forms. They last until you sign out, or for the "remember me" period.
- Notices: remember that you closed the cookie notice, the age notice or an announcement. They last up to 1 year.
- pb_ref: when you open a creator's page through someone's referral link, remembers which link you followed, so that the person who shared it can be credited if you subscribe. It lasts 30 days.
- pb_partner: remembers a partner's invite link you followed, until you sign up. It lasts 30 days.
- pb_tdev: identifies your browser to prevent repeat free trials and fraud. It lasts 2 years.
- Stripe cookies: set by our payment processor to prevent card fraud. They last up to 1 year.
4. Your Choices Regarding Cookies
You have control over how cookies are used:
- Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Visit your browser’s help section for instructions (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari). Note that disabling essential cookies may impair the Service’s functionality.
- Cookie notice: When you first visit, a notice tells you that we use cookies and links to this policy.
- Do Not Track: We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, as there’s no universal standard for interpreting them.
5. Legal Basis (Where Applicable)
For users in regions like the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom:
- Essential cookies are used based on our legitimate interest in providing the Service.
- We do not set non-essential cookies. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
6. How Long We Keep Cookies
Cookies have varying expiration dates:
- Session Cookies: Expire when you close your browser.
- Persistent Cookies: Remain on your device for a set period (e.g., days, months, or years) or until you delete them.
See Section 5 of our Privacy Policy for broader data retention details.
7. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the Service (where feasible).
